Planning - Costume

Natasha's costume

We decided that Natasha should wear an outfit that would look natural, as if she was actually on a day out to the country park with her boyfriend. This ended up being:

  • Jeans
  • A coat
  • Ankle boots
We thought that this outfit would be warm and comfy but look stylish at the same time. It is the sort of outfit that Natasha said she would wear normally, and so it will look natural and suitable for the shoot. Her hair and makeup will be minimal and natural as we want her to look like she is comfortable and happy with her boyfriend.

For the prom scene we thought that Natasha should dress up a bit more, as proms are usually a big thing for girls and they want to look their best. She will be wearing:

  • A long prom dress
  • Heels
Her hair and makeup will be subtle but more than what she would have been wearing for the Capstone country park shoot. We want her to look like she has done herself up for the event.

Planning - Costume

Despite my efforts I could not find an outfit that resembled the one that I wanted to use for the shoot tomorrow. Due to this, I have had to come up with another outfit that I think will be suitable for the music video, using clothes that I already had. The outfit consists of:
  • A summer dress
  • Tights
  • A denim jacket
  • Shoes
This outfit is kind of similar to another one that I posted before, so in one way we have been lucky.

Although it wasn't my favourite outfit of the lot, it will work just as well as the others to create the right feel for the video.

Planning - First shoot

We have decided on a date for our first shoot. We are going to be filming on Friday the 8th of February at about 16:30 as this is a day that everyone is free and this time will give us the background shots that we want. We are going to shoot our field scenes, meaning we will have to go to our Capstone Country Park location. We are going to film the scene where I am singing in the field and also the scene where the couple are by the pond. This means we will get two of our scenes done in one shoot on one day. It is going to be a long day but if all goes well, then it will be very successful.

Planning - Storyboards

Today we completed our storyboards in detail with the timings, audio and transitions all in place. When we first started drawing up our storyboards we thought that Amy was going to be the actress and so the name that we have used throughout the storyboards is Amy. However, I am now the actress and so the name is wrong, but we didn't want to re-do all of the storyboards just because of the name. So we have kept the storyboards as they were.

The storyboards are really going to help us when we go on our first shoot as it will act as a guideline so that we can see what we need to do and how long it will take. They will also help in the sense that we will not be running round not knowing what to do, we will have all the details that we need infront of us.

Planning - Costume

Today I spotted a costume that I think would be better than the other two that I looked at for me as the role of the artist.

The outfit is another one worn by Zooey Deschanel. I think that the colours represent spring, which is when we are going to be filming and the costume as a whole suits the mood of the song. I am going to try and re-create this outfit for the music video.

Planning - Group meeting

Today we had a group meeting to ensure that everyone knew what they were doing and everything was getting done. We discussed everyone's roles within the group and all members seemed happy with what they were doing. We have arranged to have another group meeting next week to plan everything for the filming of our music video. We are going to need to create a timetable or schedule that will help us to keep track of what we are filming and when. It will enable us to keep things organised so we wont get confused and we can plan ahead. This meeting will also give us the chance to look over the shot list and storyboards so that we can familiarise ourselves with the production, ready for fiming.
